JoFotara — the national e-invoicing system run by the Income and Sales Tax Department — is steadily becoming part of how every business in Jordan issues an invoice.
JoFotara (الفوترة الوطنية, the National Billing System) is Jordan's e-invoicing platform, operated by the Income and Sales Tax Department. Invoices are issued through it or reported to it, registered with the tax department, and carry a QR code that proves it. The rollout is phased, and the range of businesses covered keeps widening year on year — the direction is clear even where individual dates differ by sector.
The practical problem is that most businesses sell in one place and invoice in another: a till at the counter, and a separate portal or accounting program for the invoices. Re-typing a day's sales into a second system is double entry, and double entry means late evenings and mistakes. An invoice issued at the counter should reach JoFotara on its own.
There are two honest routes: a system with the national e-invoicing built in — which is what our platform OmniCart does — or connecting the software you already run to the JoFotara API. We offer both, and this page explains each without the sales gloss.
